Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Complete Ambient Mix (bootleg OST) (2025)

Liner notes

The Deus Ex series has, in my opinion, some of the best music ever written for games. Ever since playing the original Deus Ex in 2000, I’ve loved its ambient music and the unique cyberpunk/Blade Runner vibe it brought to each game.

I’ve also long been frustrated by the lack of dedicated ambient OSTs. Like most games, Deus Ex soundtracks are a mix quiet, atmospheric tracks with high-energy combat or stress themes — but it’s the ambient tracks that really shine. So I made my own mixes.

This is a passion project I’ve been wanting to tackle for years, and if you love the music of Deus Ex as much as I do, I think you’ll enjoy these. They’re available here and on YouTube, starting with the last two games.

More on this mix

This is an unofficial/fan mix of all the ambient music that can be heard in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and its two DLCs.

There is a huge amount of music in DX:MD, over 10 hours. As with my DX:HR mix, this is focused on ambient tracks from both the OST and audio ripped directly from the game. Mixing this down to under 3 hrs took some heavy editing.

Most tracks (including those from the official OST) have been tweaked and in some cases remixed to fit the ambient theme. The most heavily edited tracks are marked (edit), in those cases the original is 20–30 min long, so I mixed that way down.

Some track titles appear twice because I broke them up for better flow overall, but the music doesn’t actually repeat (e.g. the Utulek/Golem segment).

Tracks roughly follow the sequence of events in the game, with some liberties.

Some tracks from the OST or game files were omitted entirely because they repeat motifs already present in other tracks, or are just not ‘ambient’. I also mixed this according to my ears, so obviously this is subjective — it’s what I want to listen to. But I think it sounds pretty good!
