Robot Dreams Album Cover

4T Thieves of the Kahvi Collective:

“Kahvi’s 10th Anniversary celebration continues with a new release exclusively for digital download fans. We’ve got some of your favourite artists and asked them to create a special anniversary track to put out on Beatport, iTunes and the other digital download sites for your listening pleasure. For most of the artists listed below, this is the first time they’ve ever been released on commercial sites, so why not support your favourite artists and download the album!”

My contribution to this unique compilation is track #14, Ascent. (An uplifting tune full of arpeggio goodness — here’s a short excerpt).

Infinite Lives

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Words often fail me, so I’ll be extra-brief: It’s available, and it’s great — 73 minutes of electronic goodness!

Unfortunately, it also comes with a bit of sad news: this is the last album to be released as part of the “workbench” project. Infinite Lives is the final chapter of this 10-year adventure.

But what an adventure it has been — my music has been around the globe, and even the website itself has been spotted in the print world; all from what has essentially been a part-time, pet project. It’s been absolutely fantastic, and feedback from listeners continues to be a true source of inspiration: thank you!

It is now time to move on, start fresh. I haven’t run out of ideas yet, and I will update this website with more information regarding future projects in the next few weeks. Stay safe, and keep listening to the good stuff.

HNY!

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Whoops, it’s not too late is it? Happy New Year everyone! I’m falling behind on my updates as usual, so here’s some random stuff that I should have mentioned weeks ago:

  • New b-side! threshold—The result of some intense trial & error work while setting up some new software and hardware. Simplistic and a bit too aggressive, but I figured it was decent enough for the b-sides, at least.
  • New mix by Polaski—Searching for Planets, featuring paper frog as the closing track. It’s set to a slower BPM than the album version, which doesn’t sound bad at all. Wish I’d thought of trying that.
  • Bits of Zoo & b-sides spotted on the Gamers With Jobs Conference Call! Best podcast, ever.
  • VI status—a lot of new material completed, almost too much actually. I’ve been thinking about splitting it into two releases, one leaning towards IDM and the other more ambient. If it works out, the former will most likely be released first (and sooner than later).
